    Social distancing rules in Hong Kong have been extended to 23 June 2021. For catering businesses (excluding bars and pubs which have their own rules), there are  four modes of operation under which they can operate dine-in services. These are set out below.

    * People aged under 15 or below accompanied by an adult who uses the LHS App can be exempted. People aged 15 or below not accompanied by an adult and those aged 65 or above who are unable to use the LHS App are required to provide information on the visit with a specified form.

    ** Only polymerase chain reaction-based nucleic acid test using combined nasal and throat swabs are accepted. Records of every SMS notification of test result should be kept for 31 days.

    *** All staff members involved in the operation of the business on the premise must comply with the testing or vaccination requirements. This refers to everyone performing their duties on the catering premise, including staff working in the back office located on the catering premise.

    **** Participants of a banquet of more than 20 persons are required to receive the first dose of the vaccine. Those aged 16 or above who are unfit to receive vaccination because of health reasons must complete a declaration form which can be found here and present a medical certificate, as well as a negative result of a PCR COVID-19 test received on the banquet date or within the preceding three days. Those aged 6-15 only need to submit this COVID-19 test.

    Each catering business must only operate in one of the modes of operation. Businesses choosing Mode C or D can further delineate part of the premise into “Designated Zone B” and/or “Designated Zone C”.
